Networking in 1.2?

If you don’t already know, there is a road map for GameMaker: Studio breaking down the general plan for future GM:S updates. One of the long sought functions by many developers has been the networking listed for version 1.4. If you’re one of those anxiously waiting for this functionality, you might not have to wait so long!

Michael Dailly was showing off some of the cross-platform networking via Twitter with two different photos, which can be found below. These were followed up by Russell Kay stating that Networking was bumped to 1.2.

Now, these are quickly floating around the GameMaker Community forums and being toted as “experimental networking” – so we take everything with a grain of salt, but it is quite exciting to know that this feature may make it to us a lot earlier than expected!

Awesome! I cannot wait to see what it is like. :D

Although, does anyone else find it suspicious that they would put LINUX in capitals on the last screenshot? :O
